Welcome to the Department for Pediatric Radiology!
In Pediatric Radiology, we specialize in medical imaging of children and adolescents. The use of imaging procedures to detect and treat childhood diseases requires consideration of age-related physical and psychological concerns of young patients. In pediatric radiology, experts work to guide your child through the necessary examination and ensure that it is tailored to individual needs - both technically and humanly!
The pediatric radiology department of the Charité is one of the largest departments of its kind in Germany and offers the entire spectrum of radiological diagnostics for our small and large patients. We examine children before birth in the womb and accompany them into adulthood. In the child-friendly examination rooms, we have the most modern equipment available for the various examinations of ambulant and stationary children.
You will find the pediatric radiology department in the basement of the Otto Heubner Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine of the Charité at the Virchow-Klinikum campus. The immediate proximity to the outpatient clinics and wards of the Children's Hospital enables optimal interdisciplinary cooperation over short distances. In daily case conferences, we support the teams of the pediatric clinic in the treatment of their young patients and thus ensure optimal exchange between the specialties.
On the following pages, we have compiled information about the range of services offered by the Department of Pediatric Radiology and our team.
Here you will also find a lot of further information about the examinations we perform and the necessary preparation.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child to the pediatric radiology department of the Charité!
